Description

These 24×36 house plans give you a Scandinavian lean cabin with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on one level, under a single-slope roof. The 24′ x 36′ footprint holds 864 square feet, and two sets of glass doors open the living room and a bedroom straight onto an 8′ front deck.

The layout keeps sleeping and living apart. A small foyer at the center connects the two 12′ x 11′ bedrooms, one at each end of the cabin. One bathroom opens off the foyer for guests, and the second sits next to the right-hand bedroom with its own door, so it works as a private bath. The open kitchen and living area runs the full 26′-8″ x 11′-8″ across the front, with an L-shaped kitchen and a high bar for casual meals.

The lean roof rises from 9′ at the front to 12′ at the back, which gives the cabin its clean Scandinavian profile and a deep 3′ overhang that shades the front glass. It is one plain rectangle on a monolithic slab with one roof plane, so the framing is simple for an owner-builder and easy for a contractor to price.
